My Journey – The man I am today vs the man I was

Welcome back to the 2nd in my series of blogs about my journey. Thank you for the kind reception and acceptance about the first part of the series.

Going from where I was before to where I am today has changed so much about my life. I have reformed my future because I had support to see where my health and life was not fulfilled to its potential.

“I have a purpose, and this passion is what empowers me”.

This week I was excited to have an interview with BBC South East News about my weight loss journey and role as a Life Coach. It was an excellent opportunity to share a part of my life story and to help inspire others.

I was not born confident, assertive and knowing the path in life I want to walk. There was a time in my life when I was the complete opposite of the man I am now. I would put up a façade, a jolly happy man always laughing and making a joke about myself. I would often come across as arrogant and opinionated.

I spent so much time thinking what others thought of me. I didn’t really consider much about who I wanted to be. I escaped into a world of online gaming, up to 14 hours a day playing World of Warcraft. In this online world, I could be the hero I wanted to be in life, fulfilling a need that wasn’t being met.

I am not ashamed of my past because it helped make me who I am today. I know who I am now and where I want to be. I have a purpose, and this passion is what empowers me.

Now I have goals that mean a lot to me, and I am able to plan for them to suit my needs and desires. I see every day as a new opportunity to learn, grow and experience a world that for many years I spent so much time running away from

I use my experience to help clients move forward and make changes to improve their wellbeing.
